St. Stan Mega-church still needs 10.4 million: The needy still hungry

By : Roy

The new Catholick St. Stanislaus mega-church off of Maze Boulevard in Modesto, near St Stanislaus Catholic School, is still in need of $10.4 million dollars to finish construction and interior decor.

The thing that concerns me is that Stanislaus County has some of the most economically depressed people in California.  I thought the churches mission was to help the community, not built giant edifices that divert money from that cause?  Also, if the Stockton Diocese STILL needs over $10 million dollars to finish the church, how much money have they already used that could have went to the needy, the hungry, and other people in need of rehabilitation?

Sure it looks nice, but it’s an irresponsible use of money.

One Comment so far ...

Here I thought churches were country clubs.
Helping the needy- THAT’S what they are supposed to be doing.
Gosh. I was off on that, wasn’t I ?
