FAIL: Modesto Bee website

They can’t even get there own advertisments right, what makes you think they’ll get yours right?  Frontpage of the Modesto Bee’s website today gets you this hideous advertisement as you are trying to read the latest headlines, practically begging you to subscribe to the paper edition:

I was curious as to how this could be the “Best Deal Ever” so I clicked on the ad after coming to work, and it actually forwards you to a completely different businesses site.  A business for webhosting called eHostingBiz.com:

The ad is filtered through the DoubleClick network, which is odd.  It should take them to a subscriber page directly on the Bee’s website.

FAIL: ModBee.com

PS: I did call them to let them know about the error, but both Margaret Randazzo and the Director of Interactive Media (a fluff name for website guy) were too busy to answer their phones. I left a message with the only guy that gets things done there, Matt Bowers. It’s been 2 hours later and still no fix. Looks like you won’t be making any subscriptions from that obnoxious ad today now will you?
