Push for the iPhone is pulled

I know, kinda late. Everyone already knows that push was booted as a feature to developers earlier this week, but isn’t it upsetting?  Push would be perfect for instant messaging programs like AIM or even Twinkle.

When you start an application on the iPhone, whatever application that was open before it, loses connectivity to the Internet and closes.  For example, if you were running AIM and you received a text message from someone that you needed to respond to, once you open the text, the aim application disconnects.  The best solution would be to have updates pushed to the iPhone since we can’t take advantage of multitasking in iPhone OS X.  But since they got rid of the push API, hope has been dwindling.

Maybe Apple will drop it back in the 2.1 software release come next month, but as for now, the functionality has been removed.

Some thoughts: Things are moving so fast for Apple in regards to the iPhone, they are running into false promises and bugs just like Microsoft has because of the demand for the product and for new features.

Apple, just recenter yoruself.  Grab some focus.

p.s. Please fix my signal from dropping in and out. I also don’t usually have 3G service either.  Help!
