Colbert: Anglicans should do what Catholics do - ordain gay priests and just don’t talk about it

That’s what Stephen Colbert said on The Colbert Report to the New York Times‘ Laurie Goodstein regarding the recent controversial boycotting of the Anglican Lambeth Conference.  The Lambeth Conference is a once a decade meeting for Anglican Bishops to get together and shoot the shit on policy.

300 Anglican Bishops from the United States and Africa boycotted the meeting because of the Episcopalian/Anglican Bishop Gene Robinson’s attendance. Gene Robinson is an openly gay Bishop and as many of you know, there are several people in the world that still have a problem with homosexuals. Whatever.

Kudos to Colbert for stating the obvious amid uproarious cheers from the crowd and laughter from Goodstein.
