Christian the Lion remembers his dads
After raising Christian, the lion, surrogate human fathers, John Rendall and Ace Berg, realize he is getting too big to raise and needs to be sent into the wild.
Years later, Rendall and Berg go to see if they can find Christian in the Kenyan Sahara. Being told that the animal may not recognize them, this is how the reunion went:

Animals remember their friends, they know who loves them and they love unconditionally. What a wonderful thing to see the love between human and animal it warms my soul.
