A cleric from the Vatican Observatory said that the existence of aliens is possible and we should accept them as “extraterrestrial brothers” and sisters.
Rev. Jose Gabriel Funes said that the existence of ET is inline with creation, because they would still be God’s creatures, which sounds like a logic flaw.
So any intelligent being that comes to Earth has already been marked as God’s creation. Poor aliens.
Bad move on the Vatican’s part to acknowledge life outside of earth? Does this punch holes in their story of creation, since other planets weren’t mentioned in Genesis? If God has chosen Catholics as his beloved and saved people, could there be some other race of animals that he has also offered eternal life to?
I suppose this would be contingent upon actually finding life outside of Earth. Maybe this is damage control. Getting a bit ahead of the game and admitting ET life before we do finally find it.
Is the Pope an alien?
