If you’re looking for a great tool to analyze domains for link quality, then Backlink Analyzer by Sitening SE Tools is for you.  Just type in the domain name and Sitening searches for how many pages Google has indexed from that domain, how many .edu and .gov sites link and a few other parameters.  They combine these together to give you a number from 0 to 100 telling you whether or not you should pursue a link from the reported domain or not.

I ran a test for TUAW.com (The Unofficial Apple Weblog) and they scored 95 out of 100.  Getting a link from them would be GREAT for your website!
