Choosing the right content management system

There are a ton of content management systems (CMS) available on the Internet available commercially and freely distributed through open source.

A company I do contract work with here in town utilizes a commercial content management system. The interface is clunky, filled with bugs and is next to impossible to get support for. The company I work for does receive the hosting and CMS free because they are a non-profit organization, however, if the writers of this software are peddling this product to other people and organizations for over $100 monthly, I say that the victimized parties are being taken to the cleaners!

There are plenty of open source alternatives to commercial content management systems. Take this blog, for example. It is ran on the WILDLY POPULAR and easily configurable CMS called WordPress. Some hosting companies even include a one-click install in your admin interface, contact your hosting company for more information.
