When I hear image map, I get this really bad taste in my mouth. I’m not sure why. Maybe because I think of the thousands of tragic websites that are built entirely of images.

At any rate, I ran accross a situation where I needed to utilize this “feature” and not knowing the coordinates to the places on the image where I needed to make the links, I did a search for an online image map editor.

I came across a few duds, some broken links, and then this little gem: the Online Image Map Editor at maschek.hu.

It’s super easy to use and allows you to use an image from your computer or a website. If you want to just try it out, they have a few sample images too.
